EPA Lead RRP Initial (Spanish)

This course will be given in Spanish. 

As of April 22, 2010, anyone who performs renovations, repairs, or painting (RRP) in pre-1978 housing or child-occupied facilities must be Lead-Safe Certified by the EPA or an EPA-Authorized state. Individuals and firms that are not certified could face fines of up to $41,056 per day. To get certified, individuals must take this 1-day Lead RRP Training course.

This Lead Renovator Initial Certification (RRP Training) course is 8 hours in length and includes lead safety training approved by the EPA or applicable EPA-Authorized state program. Any contractor performing qualifying work on pre-1978 homes or child-occupied facilities must employ at least one Certified Renovator who has successfully completed this training. Companies must also process an application to become a Lead Safe Certified Firm. The course concludes with a certification exam.

Asbestos Handler Initial (Spanish)

This is an Asbestos Worker/Handler Initial Spanish training course that accredits individuals to remove, encapsulate, enclose, repair or disturb friable or non-friable asbestos, and to handle asbestos material in any manner which may result in the release of asbestos fiber on an asbestos abatement project. Lecture and Hands-on is included in this training session.

This 5-day interactive training course has been fully approved by the New Jersey Departmenet of Health. This course provides a comprehensive discussion of the practices and procedures used in affecting the Asbestos Abatement Supervisor in any way and includes lecture and hands-on. It is designed to provide the attendee with the ability to understand the importance of federal and state regulations. Additionally this course is designed so that individuals can recognize asbestos applications, comprehend the health hazard potential and understand the principals of work practices to work safely and efficiently with asbestos in a manner that will safeguard personal and public exposure.

Lead Inspector Risk Assessor Refresher

If renewing for NJ, you must provide proof of permit card to ATI prior to taking the class. The LIRA Refresher is a Bi-Annual Refresher. 

Lead Abatement Worker Refresher (English)

This is an approved NJDOH Course. Please do not let your Lead Abatement Worker license expire. This refresher course is designed to re-certify those individuals who are certified as Lead Workers to permanently eliminate lead-based paint hazards. NJDOH Certification is a Bi-Annual Certification.

NYS/EPA/AHERA Asbestos Project Monitor Refresher

This 8-Hour Online course is required annually for students that have successfully completed the initial Project Monitor course. This 8-hour class will cover the latest regulatory review and update of State Federal and local regulations, review and update of key aspects of functions performed by the project monitor including, but not limited to developments in state-of-the-art work practices and safety procedures, work area inspection procedures, air sampling strategies, and recordkeeping; and relevant case studies to highlight important concepts. Upon successful completion of the course and a 25-question multiple choice exam, students will be able to reapply to the New York State Department of Labor for certification as an Asbestos Abatement Project Monitor.

Lead Inspector Risk Assessor Initial

Why Should You Take This Lead Inspector/Risk Asessor Course?

This Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor training is designed to provide information for those individuals who perform lead-based paint inspections, risk assessments and/or clearance examinations on abatement and renovation projects.

This course will teach the legal obligations facing inspectors/risk assessors when inspecting for lead hazards, and individuals will learn to determine whether or not lead-based paint or other lead hazards are present in sufficient quantities to require abatement according to regulatory guidelines. This workshop prepares you to immediately apply your knowledge to the field, with extensive hands-on training and real-world examples from experienced instructors.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

One (1) year experience in a related field (eg. Lead, asbestos, environmental remediation work, construction-related health and safety inspection) and one of the following:

1. A Bachelors degree and one (1) additional year of experience in a related field.

2. Certification as a sanitary inspector-grade 1; health officer, an industrial hygienist, an engineer, a registered architect, or an environmentally-related scientific field such as an environmental scientist.

3. A high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least two additional years experience in a related field.

An examination will be given at the end of the course. Upon successful completion of the examination, a Certificate of Completion, along with information and required paperwork for entrance into State examinations, will be issued.

Company Registration: In addition to complying with the training and individual certification requirements, any individual offering to perform lead hazard evaluations in New Jersey must work for a Lead Evaluation Contractor (including if you are self-employed). A $2,518.00 fee is required (as of 2022) - view NJ application and requirements.
