Mold Refresher

New York State Mold licenses are valid for a period of two years from the date of issuance.  To renew a license, all mold licensees must complete a four hour Department of labor (DOL) approved refresher course.  The refresher course curriculum and required number of hours are the same for all mold license types; remediation Contractor, Mold Assessor, Mold Abatement Worker Supervisor, and Abatement Worker

You can now take your required mold refresher training online via live webinar! Choose from several dates and times and register for a course that works for you.

Upon registration you’ll receive a link with further information and instructions about signing in for the webinar.

Attendees will be required to have a webcam and speakers in order to attend the webinar.  Attendees must also show proof of identification at roll call.  This can be done by showing us your NYSDMV drivers license, non-driver ID or  NYSDOL mold hard card.

NJ Asbestos Handler Worker Refresher (Spanish)

NJDOH Approved Course

The Asbestos Worker Refresher Spanish course is approved refresher training that is required to renew the Asbestos Worker certification to continue performing asbestos removal activities. This specific course is offered for the Spanish speaker, this course will review how to safely handle and remediate asbestos material on a job sites. 

*The State of Pennsylvania will allow recertifcation with this refresher only if the student has a valid NJ Permit and is also renewing NJ. Please call our main office for more information. 

NYS Asbestos Supervisor/Contractor Refresher

The Asbestos Supervisor Online refresher 8-hour training re-certifies individuals to supervise and direct asbestos workers performing abatement activities. An Asbestos Supervisor must have completed this training and always have a valid Supervisor certificate with them while working on qualifying projects. The supervisor is also responsible for performing the duties of the OSHA competent person for the asbestos project, consistent with current EPA and OSHA regulations.

 

During this course, students will receive a regulatory review and update on new asbestos legislation pertinent to asbestos abatement work. Beneficial features of this course include real-world examples from experienced instructors, as well as an overview of OSHA, AHERA, NESHAP; acceptable work practices; workplace safety; and air monitoring techniques. You will have the opportunity to interact with your peers and course instructors for maximized learning.

Asbestos Handler Initial (Spanish)

This is an Asbestos Worker/Handler Initial Spanish training course that accredits individuals to remove, encapsulate, enclose, repair or disturb friable or non-friable asbestos, and to handle asbestos material in any manner which may result in the release of asbestos fiber on an asbestos abatement project. Lecture and Hands-on is included in this training session. 

Lead Abatement Supervisor Initial

Interactive 5-Day (40 Hour) Training that includes lecture and hands-on. Topics include but not limited to: Lead-Based Paint hazards, federal and state regulaions and guidelines. Project management, worker protection, mitigation, legal and issurance and supervisor roles.  

IMPORTANT: 

Application Education and Experience Requirement:

Prior to training, all individuals applying for a Lead Supervisor for Housing and Public Buildings permit must certify that they meet the minimum education and experience requirements as set forth at N.J.A.C. 8:62-3.2(e).

A permit will be issued only to those applicants who meet the following:

1. A minimum of one (1) year experience as a lead abatement worker; and

2. A minimum of two (2) years experience in a related field or the construction trades.

NYSDOH Asbestos Project Designer Initial

This course is ran in affiliation with our NYSDOH Approved Training Provider.

This Asbestos Project Designer Initial training accredits individuals to plan the scope, timing, phasing, and remediation methods for an asbestos project. Accreditation as a Project Designer allows one to apply knowledge of building construction in the design and development of abatement projects, abatement specifications, bidding documents, architectural drawings, and schematic representations of material locations. This workshop prepares you to immediately apply your knowledge to the field, with extensive hands-on training and real-world examples from experienced instructors.

Lead Inspector Risk Assessor Refresher

This course has been approved by NJDOH

  • Review of Federal, State and Local Regulations. Review of health concerns of Lead-Based Paint. Review sampling and testing methods. Review use of XRF paint analyzers. 
  • Review roles and responsibilities of Risk Assessor. Review Lead hazard screen protocol. Review preparation of final risk assessment report. Development of hazard control options

If renewing for NJ, you must provide proof of permit card to ATI prior to taking the class. The LIRA Refresher is a Bi-Annual Refresher.
